I find so much inspiration, love and support from my oil community! These women in this community mean the world to me. So I thought it might be fun to introduce some of the Oil Babes that influence me and teach me how to love and heal! I get so many questions asking why I love my oil community, so I thought it might be fun to hear how the women around me answer!
Tell me about yourself and why you started using essential oils?
I’m Erica — holistic health coach, yoga teacher and mom to two littles (soon to be three!) that has been on my holistic health journey for over five years. I began using essential oils during my first pregnancy so I could more naturally clean my home. Once I started to experience the emotional benefits the oils provide and how beautifully they complement my yoga + self care practices I was all in!
What motivated you to start building a business with doTERRA? When did you decide you would commit to it for the long term?
I initially wanted to be involved in the business because I saw it as a great way to provide my existing clients with the benefits I had been experiencing with essential oils. It didn’t take long for me to realize this was the exact vehicle I was looking for to share my story, authentically educate other women about the power of taking care of themselves and be home with my kids. Once I knew I had found my home there was no going back.
How has your life changed since using and sharing these oils?
doTERRA has helped me find my voice. The voice that knows what is best for my children and has the courage to speak up for them. The voice that knows that I have something meaningful to share with this world and with other women and shares it. The voice that wants to help other women be able to do the same and does.
What has been an obstacle or limiting belief in your business that you have since learned to overcome, and how?
There are so many limiting beliefs I never knew I had that I continue to work through. The biggest one over the past six months has been that I can’t create the business that I want to and be the mother that I want to at the same time. I kept telling myself that something had to be different in order for me to find success. Once I realized that this was not only a limiting belief, but that it was crippling my growth as a business owner and as a person, I knew I had to let it go. Daily affirmations around letting go of my limiting beliefs were huge in allowing this to happen. The untrue story I kept repeating to myself simply had to end.
What is a piece of advice you give a new builder starting their business journey?
I love to meet the women on my team where they are. To let them know that they matter and that their story matters. This business is really simply — we connect ourselves to our story, to the message that we want to share, and we authentically share that with others. With that mindset and commitment, anything is possible.
This beautiful community of women. There are almost no words. To those that uplift, inspire and support one another every single day. That are each other’s biggest cheerleaders. It was the last thing I expected when I began this journey and it’s hands down the best thing about it.
