What motivated you to start building a business with doTERRA? When did you decide you would commit to it for the long term?
I’ll never forget when someone first approached me on how to get these oils in their hands. I had no idea what to do! But suddenly, I also felt like I had a huge opportunity in front of me to help other women navigate this new chapter of their health like I was. Honestly, my gut told me I had no other option but to provide that support. I didn’t know what the business would look like for me, but I knew I owed it to myself to explore. So because of the smile it brings to my face when I get a text saying, “this was the only thing to help my teething baby” paired with the fun I have sharing these oils and the amazing relationships I have made through this business – no doubt I’m a lifer.
How has your life changed since using and sharing these oils?
When you find something that lights up your soul, that transfers over into other areas of your life. So everything feels a bit brighter. It’s incredibly fulfilling to know I’m on a path that not only serves the wellness of others, but also allows me to shine in my own way. I know my family and closest friends would say they get to experience a better version of Stacey, the mom, wife, and friend now too. Oh, and bonus points that my job and passion lies in natural wellness. I definitely do a better job honoring my body and mind than I ever have before.
What has been an obstacle or limiting belief in your business that you have since learned to overcome, and how?
I think it’s easy – especially in the very beginning – to get caught up in what you think the business should look like, perhaps by comparing your journey to others. I think all that does is distract from your own gifts to share. There’s no one way to build a doTERRA business, and that’s the beauty! How one person builds may not work for you, and that is completely ok. As a mentor now, I see firsthand incredible and distinct strengths that each of my builders have, and I’d never want them to do anything other than what brings them joy and fulfillment in this job. It actually serves as a great reminder to me 😉 Do what feels right to you, and that’s where success and happiness will lie.
What is a piece of advice you give a new builder starting their business journey?
Stop standing in your own way. And what I mean by that is, don’t give limiting beliefs the power to inhibit you, whether that’s taking the first step or your next step. This business is for any woman who wants it and is willing to believe in her talent. I love this quote by Henry Ford, “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right”. Always believe in your strengths and your ability to help others in your own way.
What has surprised you most about building a doTERRA business?
The deep friendships I’ve gained are the most beautiful surprise of this whole journey! And I’m sure most of TDE Co. ladies will say something similar. It’s brought me closer to old friends and has given me the opportunity to connect, work, create, and laugh with incredible new souls across the country.
