I find so much inspiration, love and support from my oil community! These women in this community mean the world to me. So I thought it might be fun to introduce some of the Oil Babes that influence me and teach me how to love and heal! I get so many questions asking why I love my oil community, so I thought it might be fun to hear how the women around me answer!
Tell me about yourself and why you started using essential oils?
My name is Erin Bridges. I’m originally from Massachusetts, but have called the northern Virginia area home for the last 10 years. I’m a wife, a toddler mom, and a kindergarten teacher.
I started using essential oils when my son was 9 months old. He had respiratory issues and we were told to give him daily steroid nebulizer treatments. That’s when I knew I needed to find more natural ways to support his immune system and respiratory health. We found so much success with essential oils that they naturally spilled over into other areas of our lives.
What motivated you to start building a business with doTERRA? When did you decide you would commit to it for the long term?
After finding success in using them to support my family, I naturally started bringing them up in conversation. I was surprised by how many people wanted more information! I figured I should take advantage and start building my own business. Hitting Elite made me realize that this was something I could do to help create more financial freedom for my family.
How has your life changed since using and sharing these oils?
I’ve found a tribe! I’ve reconnected with friends in new ways and have found new friendships along the way. Some I haven’t even met yet! The community that we have in The Daily Essential Co is just unlike anything else I have ever been a part of. This has also been a journey of self development. I’ve learned so much about myself since I started this business. It has forced me to dig deep and think about what my goals and desires really are.
What has been an obstacle or limiting belief in your business that you have since learned to overcome, and how?
Time. I have a full time job, which often involves working outside of contract hours, I’m a mom, and a wife. Where could I possibly find time to do a business on the side? I’ve learned that you can fit it in if you truly want to. Fifteen minutes here and there. Following up with someone on your lunch break. Creating a social media post while riding in the car. It can be done.
What is a piece of advice you give a new builder starting their business journey?
Don’t ever take a “no” personally.
What has surprised you most about building a doTERRA business?
The support you get! You might be building your own business but you are never in it alone.
